I am a resident of Hyderabad who was staying in Kolkata . I wanted to get some clothes and other stuff transported to Hyderabad and I was told that I would be charged 85rs per kilo of weight. I was also told that the packers would first weigh the items, inform me the bill amount and then pack it at the said address in Kolkata. When they contacted me from Kolkata at the packing address, I was told they didn`t have the weighing scale and they would weigh it at the office. I trusted them to weigh correctly and agreed. They call me with the bill amount from their office saying the bill has amounted to 7800rs approx and sent me a photo of the bill. When pressed on why the bill was so much, they told me that they charge per box and not per kilo. I tried to negotiate and sought clarification as to why it wasn`t specified to me before. they said that is how things are and that they could drop the stuff back at the original address but would charge me 4000rs for it. I told them that I would lodge a complaint with the consumer forum and they immediately deleted all their WhatsApp messages including the photo of the bill. All my stuff is now at their office in Kolkata stranded. I know no one else in Kolkata who could help. Kindly do the needful.
