I received a call from a lady stating that she is calling from indeed jobs. She further informed me that I have been selected for the position of Senior Transport Planner at Akshaya Patra (Kollam, Kerala) and that I will be getting a package of Rs 7.58L CTC. There were supposed to be two interviews, one being telephonic and the other being face to face. She told me that I had to pay a registration fee of Rs. 2999 for receiving a HR Code for the telephonic interview which is will be scheduled for tomorrow between 11 am and 12 pm, upon receiving the above mentioned amount. She sent me a mail with the website address to my mail id so that I could pay the registration fee. The website address mentioned in the mail was http://www.indeedjobz.co.in/ which is quite similar to https://www.indeed.co.in/ (a genuine job portal).Being a resident in Kollam district, I was almost sure that there is no company that is currently recruiting in Kollam (Kerala) for a Senior Transport Planner. Moreover, she provided three locations within the district where the offices of the company are. Getting the stench of fraud, I decided to do a quick search about Akshaya Patra, to see where the offices are, if at all in Kerala. Finding that there are no offices in Kerala, I cut the call and decided to dig deeper into finding the validity of the job site she claimed she was calling from. I visited http://www.indeedjobz.co.in/ and checked their Contact Us page (screenshot attached). There was no Customer care number and the Office address mentioned (28 building no.28 cannought circus, Gurugram AND OR 28 building no.28 DLF CitynSec-24, Gurugram) doesn`t exist. The email address mentioned in the Contact Us page and the one I received from have completely different domain name (info@indeedjobs.ind.in as in Contact Us page and indeed.job@mail.com from which I received the email). As of now, I have reported the mail as spam and have also reported the mobile number as spam in Truecaller. This won`t stop them and they will come up with different mail ids and phone numbers. Be vigilant, I am actively searching for a job as you might be, but don`t let these scammers/con-artists take advantage of the situation we are in.
I have also fallen prey to their fraudulent schemes. Strangely, they have sent me invoices for my payments. But currently all their numbers are switched off. The mail ID from which I received the invoices is info@indeedjobz.in.
